"Tokyo Sunrise" is an art cloth that highlights the calmness and beauty of Tokyo's outer rings, away from the busy city bustle in "the land of the rising sun". As the artist, Roderick Sebastiaan, I wanted to create a scene that exudes tranquillity and captures the serene moments of a day.

In this painting, I wanted the simple geometric shapes and soft colour transitions to reflect the transition from night to day in an area that connects the city and the countryside. The red of the rising sun symbolises the warmth and life that each dawn brings, while the straight lines depict the ordered calm of the rural environment.
